THE WATCHMAN AND THE MESSAGE

Let’s look at Ezekiel 33:1-6

Again the word of the Lord came to me saying, (2) “Son of man, speak to the children of your people, and say to them: When I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land take a man from their territory and make him their watchman, (3) ‘when  he sees the sword coming upon the land, if he blows the trumpet and warns the people, (4) ‘then whoever hears the sound of the  trumpet and does not take warning, if the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be on his own head. (5) ‘He heard the sound of the trumpet, but did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself.  But he who takes warning will save his life. (6) ‘But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand’

            1. The trumpet has been sounded

I want to emphasize the fact that the trumpet has been sounded, the time is drawing close to the end.  Soon Christ will come claim His people; we will meet Him in the sky.  But what about those who have not accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior? What about those who have not given Him their life.  And what does it mean to give your life to God?

2. Who is Jesus Christ?

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to earth and gave His blood for you and me.  He came as an example, as the word of God manifested in the flesh.  Because of the Love of God, He has made a way for us to become heirs to the kingdom of God.  While Jesus was on earth, He set an example of the way we should live.  He set an example of the way we should love.  And because of the love of Jesus Christ we now have a helper, who is the Holy Ghost, which we can draw our strength from.

3. How do I start a relationship with the Lord?

By asking Jesus to come into your heart and be the Lord of your life.  You can start right where you are, say “Jesus I believe You are the Son of God, I believe You gave your life for me, I believe You died on the cross, I believe You rose again after three days.  I ask You to come into my heart and fill me with the Holy Spirit, I give You my life and I ask You to be Lord over it, satan you have no rule in my life anymore, I choose Jesus.  In the name of Jesus I pray.  AMEN.”

4. Now what?

Now we must realize that the Bible never said life was going to be a piece of cake, but it does say that God is in control of all things. Read your Bible every day, pray to God every day, (I like to start my day with and end with spending time with God). Stay away from sin.  The Bible tells us we are to stop sinning.  We can find it a couple of times in the book of John; first in chapter 5 verse 14 and second in chapter 8 verse 11.  You need to find a good Bible based church and attend regularly, being open always to what God is telling you.  And you need to tell others.

5. What about those who do not give their life to Jesus Christ.

The Bible tells us the only way we can go to heaven is through Jesus Christ. If you choose to not let Him be Lord of your life, you are choosing to follow satan down to the pits of hell.

While you are reading your Bible you will learn about the sign of the end times.  These are the times we are living in.  We need to be praying diligently for our family members, for our government, for our bosses, for our world.  We need to get the word out that things are being fulfilled just as the Bible says it will.  It is our duty to tell others, to let people know they are in danger of spending eternity in Hell.  Hell is a very real place and I personally do not want anybody to have to go there, especially if I can open my mouth and proclaim the truth.  God hears and answers prayers.  He will hear your prayer once you are His child.  He hears the prayers of all His children.
